Site Co-ordinator

Scope:

Responsible for coordinating site construction activities in support of the project team.  Works very closely with the Project Planner to minimize conflict between trades, subcontractors, and the owner’s personnel for all project activities. Acts as a liaison between the project team and the site staff (owner).  Does not direct Superintendents or other trade supervisors.

 

Education and Experience:

Post-secondary degree is preferred. Similar experience in construction project work, office administration or coordination (without degree).

 

Responsibilities:

  • Project Specific tasks as defined by Project Manager/Site Manager/Superintendent/Project Planner
  • Assist Site Manager in co-chairing site coordination meetings and distribute minutes to all project team members
  • Coordinate daily work tasks with superintendents, subcontractors, and client operations (operational openings, lockout etc)
  • Chair administrative action list meetings and distribute minutes to all project team members
  • Coordinate permitting and daily project specific reporting of scheduled activities
  • Daily permits (work permits, hotwork/burning permits, rail closures etc)
  • Provide information for daily activity reports/logs/progress report
  • Assist in coding labour/materials
  • Confirm sub-contractor and materials invoices
  • Compile and manage timesheets
  • Compile and manage daily extra work sheets
  • Maintain project deficiency lists
  • Coordinate with Shop & Equipment Manager on required equipment and rentals

 

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail and highly organized
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Ability to work with a diverse team but also proactive when working alone
